the teen years are still nurturing, if they can nurture thier character while still getting high- great but thiers a strong risk that they will fall into the crowd that is not doing things to better themselves. |

| Sponsor | wildhoneysuckle | Dec 5, 2004 7:11am | That is exactly where my indecision lies as far as how to handle the subject with my children.
On the one hand, I don't want to be a hypocrite. I don't want to find a dime bag in their sock drawer and go postal on them for doing something I've spent over half my life doing. And I sincerely do not look upon pot as being anything sinister. Like I said, what is the big difference between smoking a joint or drinking a beer? The joint is better for you, actually.
On the other hand, if it's still illegal I don't want to encourage my children to do something that could land them in prison. I don't want it to lead to them doing other things that they could become addicted to or that could kill them. I don't want them to drop out of high school or grow up to be slackers who do nothing all day but lay around on the sofa watching tv, getting high and eating Cheetos. Yeah, I smoke, but I also keep a neat and well run household, mother 3 young children, manage 2 businesses, volunteer, and write when I get the time.. So, I don't know. I am still undecided. I don't want them to think it's bad, but I don't know if I want them doing it, either.. |

| | 125840 | Dec 5, 2004 7:29am | | I used to leave notes in my stash ,,words I won`t bother you with today,, That`s all the conversation I ever had with any of them..If they ever knew how many times the old man left the ,"good shit" for them to find..None of them smoke now,and it never was a problem of my childraising years. All of them will turn me on now when the occassion arises without it having anymore importance than bringing me a fresh tomato from their garden..I`m sure they have their ,"stories",but,,all of us ,,"tokers" know that it`s all good time stories..Watch for lethargy,,now a lethargic smoker,,needs help..Ha..:-) |
